Red®um – An Art Exhibition Inspired by The Shining

Cherry, Brandon and Kiat were invited to create a special set of sounds and visuals for this art event inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece of horror, The Shining.
Organised by Steve Lawler from Kult3D, the exhibition took place on top of the hill at Old School and saw 25 Singapore artists get freaky.

“As a kid, I used to sleepwalk whenever I get freaked out, so I’ve always avoided watching horror movies and suspense thrillers. Yet at the same time, I have a deep fascination with dark sinister sounds. For the Redrum exhibition, Kiat and I made an original track using various manipulated samples from the movie soundtrack itself.
I also recorded what will probably be one of my favourite mixtapes for this year, containing IDM, dubstep and weird surreal tunes from my sound library. Then I sat in my dimly lit lounge past midnight, cutting up these little girls for the CD packaging hand-folded with love.”
